Baby's First Pony

We put Grace's hair up in her first ponytail Saturday. I had always thought it was too fine and would slip out. But it held for hours. She looked so cute but a lot older. She kept touching it saying "cute".

Christmas Toy Regifted

Grace received a sit-n-spin for Christmas from Mamaw Grace. We tried it with her a few times, but all she could do was sit on it. So we pulled it out a few days ago to try again, and she started spinning. She can only go slowly, but she sits on it all the time. The sippy goes in the middle (or the teapot), she pushes the button to play the music and she enjoys herself. The toy that keeps on giving.

A,B

Grace likes letters, and we practice the A,B,C's all the time. She will even fill in the blanks when singing the song (only with certain letters, of course). I tried to catch her doing it, but she did it 3 times before I filmed, then she stopped. She doesn't want to do anything on camera. She gets shy.

Happy, Happy, Happy

Baby is "happy, happy, happy" all the time and wants to "play".

LILLY

Grace loves the girl down the street, Lilly. Now instead of "car", we hear "Lilly" all the time. She wants to walk to her house every day over and over. I think even "Lilly's" parents are tired of hearing Grace call her name all the time. When will the obsession end.
This is the three of them playing at our house. The other baby is Lucia, Lilly's sister who is 19 months old. Grace has no obsession for her.

Are You Really Making Me Wear These

Already getting a head start on the football season, Grace cried in the morning after being forced to sleep in Tennesse pajamas.

Outdoor Picnic

We bought an old picnic table for Grace last weekend, and she really likes it. She likes to sit and read the paper and drink her sippy. She is becoming an old woman before her time.

18 Month Old Pie !

Rock A Baby

Grace has so many new words that we don't notice a lot of them. But she also is now combining two or three words. Her new favorite is "rock a (the) baby" as she is rocking herself in her duck bathtub, rocking her doll in the stroller or being rocked herself. Coming home from The Falls the other night, she started saying it over and over and then giggling.

She will also say hi, bye and goodbye before another word. Blue kitty, little car, red car, big car and big girl are also her favorites.

The Color Monster

Grace has been all about the crayons lately. She finally started doing more than just snacking on them, until last night. Nana was babysitting and had to take them away from her. While left alone for only a few seconds, Grace ate the blue crayon. She had to brush long and hard to get the remains out of her mouth. Today I put the crayons out of site.

No Jumping Over the Falls

Mommy was a little nervous about taking Grace to Niagara Falls, being that she loves water and loves to run off. So we kept her in her car most of the time. She didn't even seem to notice she was actually looking at a BIG pool.
She also had to hold Daddy's hand while riding. She missed him while he was gone for a week.

To Check or Carry On

Baby wanted to go home with Grandma. She tried to sneak away without anyone knowing.

Lions, Tigers and Bears

Grandma, Nana and Mommy took Grace to the zoo Saturday. It was nice and cloudy with a good breeze, so we stayed for 4 hours, then Grace took a 10 minute nap on the way home.
Mommy and Grandma wanted a nap but didn't get one.

Grace liked the sea lions, moneky, bears and elephants. But her favorite things were the carousel, train, fountain and swinging bridge (which she crossed back and forth about 10 times.)

Dinner with Nana

The three girls (Grandma, Grace and Mommy) went to Nana's for dinner, where we were joined by Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Dave. Baby didn't stop moving, even for food. Uncle Dave said she looked like neopolitan ice cream in the beautiful dress sent to her from Africa by her aunt Elizabeth. Baby would like the ice cream.
